Minutes - July Minutes were voted on and approved.
Financials - Kyle spoke of several items. He passed out financials sheets for all to look at. There were a few items that have been kind of "hanging around" the last few months, and expects several of those to fall off and to give us a cleaner look next month.
Mike Storrs spoke about the Peak One tournament and how it was nearly $1,700 in the red. He spoke of several things that helped to cause this, including the first time trying a 2 day event. This meant much fewer amateurs, which in turn meant less purchasing of things like fundraiser discs, shirts, ect. He let the board know that he is hoping to do some creative things, fundraiser discs, perhaps a fund raiser tournament, to try and recoup some of the clubs losses.
Financials were voted on and approved.
Website update - still running smoothly
Tag Master- Jamie gave us a number of 423 confirmed sold. And is sure there are many tag masters out there that still have money and names to turn in. He is very pleased where the club is sitting in terms of tag sales for this point of the year.
Tag Matches are running smoothly. Jamie has hopes that a ladies only tag match will develop, if not this year, then next.
Peak 1 - Mike Storrs, again spoke of the Peak One Championship that he TD'd. He wished he had a few more volunteers to help with some things, but realized that when having both Am and Pro play, it does dilute the volunteer field some. Saturday was very long with some groups not finishing until close to dusk. Looking ahead, he hopes to have two courses to play next year, alleviated the need/desire to make each round longer than 18holes. Lots of positive feedback from the Pro side.
Snow Mountain - Went smoothly and lots of wild strawberries growing on the mountain.
Little Windmill - coming along fine - still tweaking
States - no updates from Bill in Grand Junction - much speculation of what is happening. There is quite uncertainty among players as to what will take place.
Johnny Roberts - Discs have been ordered. Plans coming along well. Camden and Tom have been working together on this, and seem excited about things to come. They hope to have a C tier run by Colorado Disc Golf on the Friday before.
Mile High Classic - Rob Liebman has taken this tourney and will be TD'ing the event. Michelle Burghardt will be helping him as well. He is looking at Latitude 64 as the main sponsor. Mike spoke about some fun things they are planning for the event.
Shades of Gray - Chris Keener, ladies and gentlemen. He will be the TD for this event. He does appear to be a featherweight at this, but love the enthusiasm. Camden Farmer sort of volunteered himself to help out Chris, and Chris was appreciative. Jonathan Siska offered to help on the course, as he lives fairly close. The first step is to get registration up, and that should be happening soon.
Lunacy - $100 sponsorship, voted on and approved.
Jamie spoke about holding an MS disc golf event, and was hoping he could get some members to come out and caddy. It was suggested he post something on the front page of the Mile High Website and that might help to spur some volunteers.
Old Business - Mike Storrs spoke about working on some club shirts that would be good deals for our members and get out the Mile High Logo/brand
Meeting was adjourned at 7:56
