Called to order 6:30a - Those in attendance -
Board Members - Ray Woodruff, Camden Farmer, Jay Burghardt, Dave Straight, Marsha Sonderfan, Rob Liebman, Alex Johnson, Gail Pace, Mike Storrs, Kyle Harrigan
Club Members - Josh Kreutzer, Shelly Kreutzer, and Jonathan Kamm
Minutes from February meeting approved
Member comments - Josh spoke about holding a club match play event. He is still working on details like insurance at the park of choice. He would like the Mile High website to hold the registration for this event. Nothing else was requested from the club. Kyle said he is always looking for more ways to increase membership.
Financials - Financials were put together by Ken with Dave Straight as the go to guy. Dave said the club needs 90 more memberships to cover all of the commitments by the club. It was also brought up that the $160 in our account, put aside for CDSA, is confirmed that we do not owe that. And that $160 can go back into our general fund.
Website update - Chad gave update to Ray beforehand. Everything looking good. Gail brought up the idea of a possible banner across our website as a sponsor. The board discussed that possibility, as it had never been done before. Previously sponsors were just for an event, not for the Club in general. Gail mentioned that Fly Green in particular has inquired about this. The board agreed that the idea has some merit to it, but would like someone from Fly Green to show up to some of our meetings to express what they are looking for.
Membership update - Kyle told us that our current number of members stands at 186. He said he has submitted an order for 25 more women's tags, as Gail is doing a great job at getting those distributed/sold.
Tag Matches - Kyle mentioned that they are coming along nicely for our first couple of weeks.
Past - Ice Bowl - Jay Burghardt spoke of the 2014 Ice Bowl. He said that the club had raised an even $20,000 for the Food Bank of the Rockies. Eclipsing the club's previous high by over $4,000. He asked for a giant check to be made to give to the Food Bank in a ceremony with the date still to be determined. Camden said he would work on making the giant check.
Spring Fling Ams / Pros - Marsha and Jonathan spoke of the Spring Fling events. Preparation is nearly done. Oskar Blues will be coming down for the Ams, and a more local company will be swinging by for the Pros. Other details: players pack, porta potty... all getting lined up. Trophies for top three places
Melon Madness - Marsha spoke briefly on this, but with all the time needed to work on Spring Fling, she hasn't been able to put the attention needed to generate much interest. She did say that Pikes Peak Disc Golf Club is covering the park rental, and that MHDGC would take care of the sanctioning fees.
High Plains Challenge - no further news but the plans still point to one round per day, of 27 holes with tee times.
Rocky Mountain Women's - Ray informed the board that Doug Bjerkaas will not be involved this year, and that details are still trying be put together.
Johnny Roberts Memorial - Camden said that this is still being worked on by Tom
Mile High Classic - work still underway
Birds Nest course improvements- Camden spoke of the upgrades we are hoping to do at Bird's Nest. He wondered how much each tee sign would cost to get us started.
MHDGC shirts - Mike spoke about the club shirts he is having made. He said he plans to run an initial batch of 35 to see how they do. And if they do well, the money brought in will be enough to self-support the costs moving forward on more items. He said he plans to offer them up to the board members first, and then to the general club members.
