Quick note: All the board members congregated outside the Arvada Food Bank, as we did not have access to it this month. We went over to a local business establishment that we could seat all of us around a table, and began our meeting.
February's Minutes were voted on and approved
Financials - Ken was not in attendance, but he prepared the monthly sheets and sent over in email. Financials were voted on and approved
Website update - Chad spoke of the latest - He has fixed the waitlist bugs still present with sign ups. He mentioned that it is easier than ever to create whatever divisions you want as a TD. His to-do list still includes the ability to move between pools. Also on this list is to separate upcoming events from MH events and "others" so the MH events are easier to locate for our members.
Membership - current level is at 148 - Tag Masters meeting date is still on a TBD date.
Initial merchandise at/through Phenix Disc Sports is out and everyone agreed looks good.
Tourneys - past
2013 Ice Bowl - John Bird spoke of another successful Ice bowl. The goal he had set was $15,000 this year, and he reached it with a total of $15,311 raised for the Food Bank of the Rockies and Arvada Food banks.
Tourneys - upcoming
Spring Fling - Marsha is still busy at work in preparation for the Spring Fling events, just around the corner. She does not plan to use the pavilion but to have a tent set up in the yard of the house on the 17th hole that is now under Arvada ownership. She is still working to finalize the extra hole. She was wondering where we will be able to fill the water jugs being set out for the tourney.
Grudge match - Grudge match has already been filled. There is a waitlist for anyone still looking to get in.
High Plains - nothing new to report at this time
Rodnoc - Chad spoke about splitting the money raised at this event, and wanted to know if was ok with the board. The board reaffirmed that it is his tourney, and free to do whatever he wishes with the proceeds. Chad also mentioned that he didn’t expect to be giving any to the Edge program this year, as he didn't think he saw enough coming back into the state, for the money he has given them.
MHC - Camden mentioned that they are looking to move up the MHC a week, and will keep everyone informed on the date if it is moved.
JRM - Tom spoke of some exciting plans for JRM this year, but they are still in the planning phase. He did mention that he has Aug 17th marked as the Johnny Roberts fundraiser day at The Mansion course.
Course Issues - Johnny Roberts Meeting by the City - hoping for Option A
Course funds - It was brought up to possibly use the course funds that are still on the booked for Johnny, to be given to Birds Nest to complete some needed projects. The board agreed it was not a bad idea, but thought we should wait until we see what the city plans to do to Johnny, in case we might want to use the funds to tweak the "new" course.
New business - Jay Burghardt announced that he and his wife Michelle will be talking over the Mile High Ice Bowl from John Bird. Jay said that he had already talked to John about it, and John seemed receptive to the idea.
Meeting was adjourned at 817p
