It's that time of year again! Come on down to Expo for a fun-filled disc golf event!Costumes are mandatory, entry fees are low, expectations are high! This year, all proceeds will benefit the
Denver Dumb Friends League. In an effort to
maximize our donation, each division will be playing a winner-take-all format. But the prizes are
worth battling for:
There will be the usual six fruit divisions- apples, oranges, melons, prunes, bananas and nuts.
apples: any player > 900 - winner gets a new Mach Lite basket
oranges: any player < 900 (or unrated) - winner gets a DGA metal mini basket
melons: all the ladies - winner gets a DGA metal mini basket
prunes: 40 + only - winner gets a DGA metal mini basket
bananas: juniors (15 and under only) - winner gets a DGA starter bag and discs!
nuts: non-playing supporters (still get a player's package)
groups will be 'mixed fruit' for the first round, ordered by score for the second
players will proceed from their starting tee backwards, going for the basket of the previously numbered hole: (tee 18 to 17's basket, 17's tee to 16's basket etc.. all the way around... tee 1 will play to the practice basket) it's makes for a ton of ace runs and a lot of weird shots.
I will be making liberal use of mandos to keep things interesting. Don't worry bananas, no mandos for you!
